Terry and Eddie Malanda have been the proud owners of Mandell’s Clinical Pharmacy since 1989. Their staff proudly served the community with care and dedicated service.

In 1991 Terry and Eddie decided they wanted to start a family of their own and started trying expecting that Mother Nature would soon provide them with lots of children. They never imagined the emotional 5 year roller coaster ride that they were about to get on.

Terry was very reluctant to undergo IVF and underwent a series of intra-uterine inseminations (IUIs). Her physicians had strongly recommended IVF and finally, in 1995 Terry and Eddie went through one IVF cycle unsuccessfully and were devastated when, right before Christmas, they got negative results. Terry returned in February for a frozen Embryo transfer (FET) that worked! Their son was born in November of 1996 and their daughter followed 20 months later in July, 1998.
This experience changed the course of Mandell’s Pharmacy forever. Terry and Eddie decided to focus their energy on helping other couples undergoing this process and specialize on the needs of fertility patients. Terry and Eddie realized they had firsthand knowledge on the crucial role that the pharmacy you select will play in your cycle. With firsthand knowledge of the stress this brings to a relationship and how difficult it is to have to treat something that should happen naturally, they have a unique perspective on how to service their clients.

Today, Terry and Eddie relish being a small part of helping to create miracles. They love occasionally running into previous clients now pushing strollers in the mall. “When they bring us their babies or send us a picture, it is THE greatest feeling. I never got over my infertility and I still get emotional when I meet one of “our” babies.”

Every pharmacist, technician and IVF coordinator has had extensive training not only on the clinical side but on the psychological and emotional aspect of infertility. That is why their satisfaction surveys consistently rate the highest scores. At Mandell’s Pharmacy service is tailored to each patient and the staff looks forward to making more pharmacy history.

MEET TERRY & EDDIE

Terry graduated from Long Island University School of Pharmacy in 1986, She explored several career options and decided that she wanted to own a pharmacy where she could make a positive impact on the health of the community that she served.

During Ed Malanda’s 25 years as a professional firefighter in Linden, New Jersey, he received several medals and awards including the New Jersey Valor Award and Firefighter of the year, retiring as a Captain.

Terry and Eddie married in 1989 and discovered on their honeymoon that they each dreamt of owning their own business. Terry had recently graduated from college and Eddie was a Linden Firefighter. In their first year of marriage, they purchased Mandell’s Clinical Pharmacy to satisfy their entrepreneurial spirit.

The pharmacy changed course a few years later when they themselves encountered problems conceiving. “This painful journey was a blessing in disguise. By the miracle of science and the Grace of God, we finally conceived and because of our experience we have been able to help so many other people! In healthcare, that is the best reward. It just doesn’t get more personal than that!”

Terry and Eddie decided to focus on Infertility patients because they realized that this population was underserved. “There was not much understanding of the emotional aspect that couples face and it was clear that unless you go through it yourself, you cannot fully comprehend the enormous emotional, psychological and social burden it entails.”

Due to their experience, the staff at Mandell’s is fully trained and qualified to handle the needs of these patients. With warmth, patience and understanding, the dream and vision that Terry and Eddie had has come true.
